[109] In Her Footsteps by Norhafsah Hamid ~ Book Review

All the ⭐️ in the universe ❤️

I am changing my IG feed’s theme.

Hello bookstafam! 🙋🏻‍♀️ how you guys been doing? those who have been following me for quite sometime probably noticed the changes my feed been going through lately.

so here’s my new plan, i’m going to have a free style feed from now on. i will still be posting flatlays once in a while with personal touch (I like to match props with the story/scene/cover), but the new theme is going to take over most of the time, which is “lifestyle” like bookshelf & desk on the background. perhaps some nature too like the sky & the beach? idk what the future holds, but im just putting this out there.

My Review

“A balanced life is where we achieved peace & tranquility”

💭 I’m not gonna lie, i’m biased when it come to this author not just because she’s one of my fav-auto-buy author, but her books have impacted my life a lot, both fiction & non.

💭I was expecting she would write covid-related thing like “how to cope with the situation spiritually” in her latest non-fiction since it came out during this period of time, but I was wrong. Though it has nothing to do with the pandemic, this book is just as good as I was expecting it to be. Reading this made me reflects on a lot of things generally from the perspective of emotional, spiritual & mental.

💭Its amazing, mashaaAllah, when the book came out just at the right time when I needed it the most. It touches a lot about self-improvements. Its the author’s journey of reconnecting & relearning the Quran & also implementing the knowledge into her life. Some of the phrases that I love is “Some arguments are not worth pursuing”, “its ok to not have that many friends. Don’t strive for popularity, but focused on doing good”, “mistakes are part of learning process”.

💭In Her Footsteps is for those who are still searching, equally for those who thinks that they have the answers & for those who needed extra motivations to keep on walking despite of going through the thoughest time in life.

In Her Footsteps tells the personal journey of the author in trying to re-connect and re-learn the Holy Qur’an, after abandoning it from young. She shares about her efforts in trying to understand the meaning of the verses in the Qur’an and also her struggles in trying to follow the teachings of the Qur’an. The author highlighted how some of the verses had affected her more than others. How some of the verses had guided her through the toughest times in her life.

One thing that the author learnt was that, one is never too old to learn and knowledge is a sacred blessing.
